On November 1st, Max turned five. For a while now, Shayla has wanted to do a bug-themed party for Max. Luckily, he was pretty excited about the idea as well. His special day began with an egg and toast spider and ended with a gooey, chocolatey, bug-infested birthday cake!
The party began with a table full of bug catchers and all the necessary decorations. Max and his friends had a great time coloring, adding stickers, and gluing foam bugs onto the sides of the catchers while they waited for everyone to show up.
Once everyone was ready, the boys grabbed their bug catchers and set off on a bug-collecting scavenger hunt.

After all the bugs were collected, the boys transformed into bugs themselves and set off on a
creepy-crawly race across the lawn.
When the race was over, it was back inside where each boy was wrapped in a toilet paper cocoon.
To finish up the party, Max opened presents from his friends and then we all had some of that
bug-infested cake and ice cream. It was a great day with lots of fun. Max is so happy that he is finally five years old! Happy birthday Max!

Way cute birthday party!! The cake looks delicious even with the bugs crawling on it! And that tree in front of your house, so gorgeous!
What a creative party. How fun. He can't be five already though, can he?! Awesome cake, as always.
