We celebrated Christmas Eve with the Carr family over at their house. We had a great Christmas dinner and then we acted out the story of Christ's birth with our little kids playing all the main parts. Little Eisley was baby Jesus, Remy played Mary, Liam was an angel, Max was Joseph, and Isla got to be a little shepherd. The kids did a great job and loved wearing their costumes.
Isla was even nice enough to give baby Jesus a bottle! After our little Christmas play, we played a few games, and then left for our own house.
Of course, the kids were excited for Santa to come. Well, Max was excited. I think Isla was excited because Max was excited. I'm sure she didn't realize exactly what was about to happen that night.
She did realize what was sitting out on Santa's plate however, and helped herself to some of his brownies! Luckily for Santa, she left him a few, along with a bottle of root beer.
Th next morning, the brownies were gone, but Santa left a note in their place. The kids weren't too concerned with the note however, they were completely occupied with what was found beneath the tree!
It didn't take them long to dig in to the toys, and Max also quickly gravitated to the stockings hung above the fireplace where he pulled out a couple of small toys, and then setting them down, reached in to pull out a banana. With huge, sparkling eyes, Max exclaimed, "Santa gave me a banana!" I had never seem him get so excited about a banana before, but I'm glad Santa left him one, because he sure was excited about it!
After playing with Santa's toys for almost two hours, we then got out the presents and both kids had a blast ripping off the paper to see what was inside.
Max got a few pairs of new underwear, and Isla immediately put on every single pair! After discovering all the new toys, we headed outside to test out the new rides. Santa left a bike for Max and a scooter for Isla, and they were both thrilled to be able to go outside and try them out.
It was a little cold outside, but that didn't stop them from having a ton of fun. Shayla took Isla in after a while to get her out of the cold, and Max and I stayed out for a while longer. I finally had to persuade him back inside so we could warm up a bit.
After all the excitement of Christmas wound down, we got ready to welcome in the new year. We spent New Year's Eve out on the bike and scooter again, and then that night, we headed back to the Carr's to celebrate. We pulled out a few sparklers left over from the Fourth of July, added a few confetti poppers, and let the partying begin! We then headed back inside to warm up, and then went home, put the kids in bed, and watched the ball drop in TV.
We had a great Christmas and 2010 was a phenomenal year. We can hardly wait to find out what 2011 has in store for us!
Happy Holidays!!!!

Shayla got a scooter for Christmas?! I'm so jealous!
Ya you definitely spoiled Shayla with that purple scooter. Looks like a great Christmas and New Year.
Yes, Shayla loves her new scooter!!! She lets Isla ride it every once in a while, but she won't let me even touch it!
Love the picture of Shayla putting on Max's new underwears. I think we have a picture of her daddy wearing Amy's baby overalls.
It was fun to see your holiday pictures. I hope the year goes great for you.
Jim has that same ball thing. It seems like the person at the factory who set the volume level on ours was a little hard of hearing. It's like three levels too loud.
