Fireworks on Obama's Lawn

We were so excited to be able to spend the 4th of July with my parents. They drove into town on the 2nd and so we headed over to the Carr's house to welcome them. My Mom and Dad have a tradition of having a big 4th of July breakfast in their backyard with all of our family and their neighbors. We decided to keep the breakfast tradition going and had a yummy breakfast at our house on Saturday while we watched the World Cup. After the game was over we decided to go to the Battle of Bull Run Memorial.

Max sat here in the grass for quite a while just relaxing.

On the 4th of July We headed into DC to celebrate our Nation's birthday. We got there at about 4:00pm so we still had quite awhile to wait until the fireworks began. We found a little bit of shade and spread out our blankets and tried to have some fun while we waited.
It was a very hot day!

Bob and Isla having some fun

Grandma and Grandpa Losee brought some fun glow sticks and Bob's parents had sent some to Max and Isla a few days earlier in the mail. The kids had so many that they decided to share them with other kids around us. I think the boys had just as much fun sharing the glow sticks as they did playing with them.

After a late night in our Nation's capitol we decided to get up early and head down to Williamsburg.

It was such a hot day so of course we had to cool off with a treat.
I think that Isla really liked her Chocolate Ice cream!

After a few more days of hanging out with Grandpa and Grandma and a few good games. It was time to say good bye. It was really fun having them here and we were sad to see them go!!
