One Little Soccer Star!

We signed Max up for soccer this year, not really knowing how much he'd like it or what to expect. His team started meeting back in the middle of April, and last Saturday was their last "game". At this age, the teams don't actually play games against each other, but rather they all get together with their coaches and do little soccer drills and team-building games. His favorite game was the Ice Cream cone game. First they would kick all of the cones over with their ball and then they would gather up the cones by putting the ball on the cone and taking it to the coach. The coach would then ask them what kind of Ice Cream it was. Max usually said Chocolate.

At first, Max was quite hesitant about getting in there and playing around with all the other kids, but by the end he was loving it! The first few games were spent with him only playing about a half of the time (or less) and the rest of the time was spent on the sidelines with Shayla and I trying to convince Max that he would have fun if he'd only go out and kick his ball around. Eventually, he'd get out there, and by the end, he'd always have fun! By the time the last few games rolled around, Max was out there playing around the entire time!

We had a lot of fun watching Max play the little games and kick his ball up and down the field (although most of the time he would carry it). We can't wait 'till soccer season rolls around again!

I love the soccer playing. Grant is into rugby and football right now. After watching a few videos on you tube I think will stick to sports with out planned physical attacks and bodily harm. It looks like a lot of fun.
