Remember December

I realize it's been quite some time since our last blog post. It's been like a month or something. It seems like it's only been a couple of weeks! December came and went faster than a rollercoaster on Prozac! To catch you up on all of our Decemberist happenin's, this post might be a little long, but don't despair, it also might have lots of pictures for your viewing pleasure. But it might not. I'm not sure yet. Anyhow, I believe we left off after the first week in December, so that is where we will pick up. Hold on tight, you're about to experience three weeks of December in just a few minutes!

The first weekend after my birthday, we went snowboarding at Brian Head with Ryan and Danna. There was a pretty decent storm that came through the day before so the snow was pretty nice.

The next Wednesday we went to my work Christmas party. It was pretty fun. The food was good, I won twenty bucks, and then we went home. A few days later we went to Jeremy's company Christmas party. Let's just say it blew my work party out of the water! Not only did it blow it out of the water, but it blew out all the water as well! We wanted to go just as spectators because we had heard so much about it, but when we got there we were immediately handed a raffle ticket. It didn't take long to realize what the ticket was for... along two walls there was a plethora of goodies from big LCD flat screen TV's, to iPod touchs, video cameras, entertainment systems, laptops, video game consoles and much more! It was like Best Buy took a dump and left without flushing! Shayla told Sharla that we didn't want a raffle ticket, but we were told to just keep it. So keep it we did! We ended up leaving with an XBOX 360 and a few video games. A few days later, Shayla splurged and bought one of the best video games since Paperboy... Rockband!Shana and Andy won a PlayStation 3 with the Rockband game from the party too. That first night we broke it in right by rocking out 'till 2:00 am! I mean, we were rockers right? That's what rockers do! Anyway, I must give a very very big THANK YOU to Jeremy who let us crash his work party, and to both him and Sharla for telling us to keep the raffle ticket. You'll have to let us mow your lawn or something!

After the party, it seemed like things might slow down a bit, but nope, I was wrong! The week before Christmas both Shayla and I had our sisters and their families fly in from Virginia. It was great to see them again and Max loved playing with his cousins Blake and Liam. Sam and Heather also came down from Salt Lake with their kids so there was lots going on. We went snowboarding again the weekend before Christmas with some of my family, and we met some of Shayla's family up there too. It was a nice, warm, sunny day and the snow was perfect! Brian Head also had their two new lifts up and running. It was awesome! I also gave Shayla her Christmas present a little early so she could take it up to Brian Head (a new snowboard, bindings, and a jacket!) and try it out.

The next few days we spent a lot of time hanging out with our familes and having a good time.
Christmas Eve came and we went to a Christmas party with Shayla's extended family. They had a little Nativity play and we dressed Max up as a shepherd. He didn't seem to like it too much. I don't imagine it couldn't have had anything to do with the robe being just a tad too big on him! He was a pretty good sport and most of the time he just sat there with the other kids. I don't think he really knew what was going on.

After the party we went over to my parents house and had a pajama party. My wole family was there and it was a lot of fun! We played games, got new pajamas, and opened cheap one dollar presents. It was great being together with the whole family and Max had fun playing with his cousins. Getting pajamas for Christmas has become a bit of a tradition in my family. Hmmm... wait a second.... yup... this pajama party was actually a few days before Christmas. It's amazing how a little egg nog can jar your memory... anyway, it was a lot of fun, regarless
of the day it was held!

Christmas day was of course, a lot of fun. Max had fun opening his presents and Blake had a lot of fun playing with them! After opening presents at my parents house we came back home and did it all again with Shayla's family.

A couple days after Christmas we went shotgun shooting on a very cold, windy day with my family, and then a couple days later we went up to Duck Creek and stayed at Andy's parent's cabin. It was a lot of fun. Max loved cruising around the cabin, and we had fun tubing and sledding out in the snow. I don't think Max liked it very much, but we had a great time making him do it!

I can't believe how big Max is! He looks like a completely different boy from the baby I knew when you lived in Logan! What a cutie!
