Escalante 24th of July Weekend

We went up to Escalante with Sharla, Allie and Bree for the 24th of July weekend.

On Friday we went to the Children's rodeo. All my kids participated. Max tried riding a calf and Isla, Wyatt and Oliver all did the Mutton Busting (Rode Sheep). 

Oliver, Wyatt and Isla each got a $2 dollar bill for participating

They didn't stay on very long, but I was very proud of them for trying!!

Movie nights at the cabin are always fun!

The next morning we went to the parade, we got there just as it was starting, so we stopped at the very beginning of the route. Which ended up being perfect, because everyone in the parade still had all their candy and since no-one else was around the kids got it all the to themselves. 

After the parade ended we got back in the van to go find Sharls and the girls. They were right in the middle of things. They tried to get some candy for my kids thinking that they had missed it. only to see that we had way more candy than anyone. And then they told us that the parade was turning around and coming back. After the parade passed again fire trucks showed up and started spraying water at the kids. And then there was a little shoot out performance. It was a lot of fun!!

Then we headed back to the cabin. The kids played out at the playhouse and caught horny toads

French dipped sandwiches for dinner

That night we went to the rodeo again

This time they chased chickens. Whoever caught the chicken got to keep it.

Then we went and watched the fireworks

And got Icecream

The next day we headed home

We always love Escalante!!
