Hunting at Night

Easter for us began over two weeks before the officially observed date. We were invited by Shelli and Lige to crash an Easter bash held at one of their neighbors homes. The party started at dusk when loads of people gathered in their backyard. Children congregated around the fence where, just beyond, lay about 2,000 brightly colored, candy filled Easter eggs!

When the sun was completely set and it was properly dark, the festivities began! Kids and parents poured through the gate, flashlights in hand, and began the hunt for the aforementioned eggs! Max and Isla both had a blast and filled their buckets completely full.



With the last of the eggs quickly disappearing, we headed back to the house where each child was able to redeem a numbered egg for a stuffed bunny. When it was Max's turn to pick his bunny, he passed by all of the big, white and brightly colored bunnies, he passed by the soft, cuddly bunnies, he passed by the cute, Easter themed bunnies, and he found a simple, small, brown bunny to take home. When asked why he chose that one, he said he liked it because it looked like a dog!
